Accent – “Gold Mine” (Take 6 cover)

We’re a “virtual” sextet from 5 different countries: Soprano: Jean-Baptiste Craipeau, France ( www.youtube.com ) Alto: Simon Åkesson, Sweden ( www.youtube.com ) Tenor 1: Danny Fong, Canada ( www.youtube.com ) Tenor 2: Andrew Kesler, Canada ( www.youtube.com ) Baritone: James Rose, United Kingdom ( www.youtube.com ) Bass: Evan Sanders, USA ( www.youtube.com ) We’d been discussing a project for a while, and we knew it would be an enormous task, but the obvious choice was to choose something from the Take 6 catalog. What better tribute than the first cut off their first album? It’s hard to believe this track was released 23 years ago, because the arrangement is still as fresh as ever. The tune was written by Claude McKnight and Mervyn Warren, and arranged by Mervyn Warren. Jean-Baptiste transcribed it, and we stacked our parts from bottom to top. Evan edited and mixed the audio. Andrew mastered the audio and edited the video. Our video concept is a reference to the original album cover. After all of the time we’ve spent discussing ideas, critiquing each other’s performances, and basically just cracking each other up on Facebook Chat, it feels like we all know each other, even though we’ve never worked together in person. Perhaps one day that will change… Enjoy! PLEASE THUMB UP, SHARE & SUBSCRIBE TO OUR CHANNELS :) THANK YOU !!
