Introduced in 1888 as the Magazine Rifle MkI, it was upgraded in 1891 to use the new smokeless powder instead of the original black powder. This is the first English bolt action, magazine-loading service rifle, and is the grandfather of the later .303 Lee Enfield rifles. A gem!

    very very good presentation, can I ask how do I clean and restore my baonet, I have a Mark 1 1888 Lee Metford Baonet, but it’s black but not rusty, would like to polish her, but don’t want to damage it? any suggestions please.

    damn i want a lee metford so bad, i cant find them anywhere here in america.
    i have seen many khyber pass hack jobs tho/

    i could spend up to 2,000$ at the moment maybe up to 2,500 but i never see them anywhere. makes me think these are pertty damn rare.

    Lovely rifle you’ve got there. It’s amazing how long the Lee design managed to outdo and outlast some of its continental competitors.

    As regarding the dustcover at 1:15, I think it might have to do with Britain’s (then) recent experiences in the first Boer War. South Africa isn’t exactly a forgiving environment for any technical piece of equipment.

    How goes it down there mate? Hope that you’re high & dry given the situation?! Been a while since I viewed one of your vids, glad I did as it gives me the chance to say have a Merry Christmas & a better year in 2011 but as I said, that depends on how things are down your way?

    I’m proud to be a part of a Direct Sales Company that is not a “Pyramid Scheme.” As a Director with Scentsy, we do not feed off those on our team. Everyone starts the same and when you work hard and build your business and team, you receive more from the company, NOT a piece of your teams financial pie. It’s a business that builds upwards, NOT DOWN!

    All corporations, businesses, governments, churches, military etc.. are made in form of a pyramid. It is a fundamental base. Don’t confuse legal with illegal. I have many friends in the business of Network Marketing that make great money, good money and no money. This is not a reflection on the company but a reflection on how the person works. Many join thinking that this is the way to go but they are to lazy and don’t carry the tools for business therefore, they fail.

    @geeksatlarge not necessarily. take limu for example, which is a pyramid scheme. “the boss” only makes a profit depending on what the people under him do; not what he does. people with normal jobs get paid on how hard THEY work not someone else.

    I agree with that one Tony, I shudder when I hear of publicly traded MLMs, proud to be in one that isn’t and is set up as a legacy trust (can never be taken public!)

    I am certainly an advocate for network marketing and believe that I have found the right company for me. I offer this caveat. I don’t agree with all the quotes coming from “Celebrity” Business Leaders who have never successfully built their own NWM business but they have a lot to gain by selling their books and CDs to the millions of distributors out there world wide. Find the top distributor in your company and learn from them. After all they really did it. These people didn’t

    You have all misunderstood what I wrote. Go back an read it again. I am a champion of MLM as long as it is not publicly owned. Why? Because a publicly owned MLM company has it’s first allegiance to SHAREHOLDERS and not to DISTRIBUTORS. Which is what I currently am!

    …you obviously don’t understand the concept of Network marketing. It is NOT a pyramid..where only ONE person is at the top. It’s actually an inverse pyramid where you start at the point of the pyramid and work your way up with other people at the top.

    The most prevalent pyramid scheme in place today is one in which there is a boss at the top, followed by a number of mid-level managers under him in charge of various departments, followed by any number of employees that work in those departments under the managers. Does this sound familiar? I’m describing how most peoples’ jobs are set up. If you had to draw out the structure of this organization, you would end up with a pyramid. Anybody with a normal job is part of a pyramid scheme. Got it?
